  24. IINNTTRROODDUUCCTTIIOONN
  25.      This command changes variables affecting the behavior of  he
  26.      recovery  system.   The only variable so far is the absolute
  27.      pinging variable.  If it's turned on, this means that  ping-
  28.      ing  of  servers occurs at absolute intervals, unaffected by
  29.      how long the actual pinging takes.  If turned off, then  the
  30.      pinging  takes  place 30 seconds after the last pinging fin-
  31.      ished, no matter how long that took.   Turning  on  absolute
  32.      pinging  should  prevent  client  pinging from becoming syn-
  33.      chronized by server reboots.
